The blog

Thoughts on life, friendships, adulting, and all the above

Some thoughts on life

I completely forgot I had a blog.

It crossed my mind this morning as I was walking to my 8:00am that oh I literally have an entire public writing platform. I could be sharing so many things. Why did I even start writing a blog? Now I HAVE to write. I’m not that interesting of a person. This is very pointless. I wish I was more entertaining…

Anyways. I figured since there’s not many interesting things going on in my life I care to write about, I have decided to start a new category.

It will simply be called “My thoughts.”

I was told by some hall mates last night that I “think too much.” Apparently, no one else around me is overly concerned with the fear that we are constantly putting up new buildings and residential homes, and that we might run out of grass. Also, no one else seems to be really confused about bluetooth and how it works. God made the earth, the dirt, the atmosphere, all the plants and animals, and somehow we have bluetooth and artificial intelligence.

I can’t be the only person who thinks about these things.

Today’s blog will be a short one. It will simply be a list of this week’s current thoughts about life.

  1. Why did it become a customary notion to ask people “How are you?” even though you don’t actually care, and everyone responds with “I’m good!” when they’re actually not? Why is this part of regular small talk when it’s not actually small talk?
  2. How do popular expressions start? When “Rome wasn’t built in a day” was first said, did everyone nearby go “Oh my gosh, I have to start saying that now. That is literally genius.
  3. Paying tuition to get a degree is like getting a designer bag. Anyone can attend the lectures and get a free education, but if you don’t pay to be enrolled to the institution, you won’t get the degree. You can buy a cheap bag from Walmart that will serve the same purpose, but you buy the designer bag for the name. You pay colleges for the degree, not the education. You follow?
  4. Cameras make absolutely no sense. No one can explain it to me enough. I will never understand that kind of technology.
  5. Is the concept of a multi-verse scientifically supported? Are there other Anna Takle’s out there?
  6. I think if I had a clone, I wouldn’t be friends with her. I think I would annoy myself.
  7. The ratio of the bird population to the human population is roughly 10 to 1. Hypothetically speaking, birds could take over the world.
  8. Surely, speed limits are just suggestions.
  9. Money actually doesn’t have value. We have just all agreed that it does. If we collectively agreed that money has no value, life would be far easier. I am of the opinion that bargaining is the superior economic structure.
  10. This is statistically impossible (but still could happen) that there is one day out of the year no one is born. Imagine a day out of the year where no one is celebrating a birthday. What are the odds of that?
  11. How many different burger restaurants are there? There’s like a gazillion burger places in Athens, GA alone. Why are so many people obsessed with making the “best” burger?
  12. Why was sliced bread such a big deal?
  13. Does everyone’s grandma religiously watch The Voice and Hallmark movies?

Okay, that is it. That is my blog. Enjoy these thoughts. Maybe ponder on a few of them for a while. I don’t know.

May you have a restful and fun week as we enter deeper into this wonderful fall season. November is by far the best month of the year. I have already started listening to Christmas music.

Happy Halloween 🙂
